Mike Alafaci
Consultant - Business Leader - Professional Coach

Consultant

Mike has worked and lived in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the USA , consulting to fortune 500 companies, State, Local and Federal governments.

Mike started his career designing HR and Logistics systems. He spent time in IT management and industry, and then consulted on large-scale, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Process Improvement projects. Mike has consulted with logistics managers; Human Resource Managers, Sales Management and Senior executives. He has trained hundreds of Big-5 consultants and clients on ERP, Strategy Execution, Project Management, Sales and Leadership skills.

Mike’s philosophy on consulting is that it should add measurable value to the business by providing an external view that respectfully challenges the status quo, introduces practical new ideas and leaves clients independently competent and positioned for success.

Business Leader

Most recently, 1994 – 2002 Mike served in an executive leadership role at SAP Australia and SAP America. His leadership and team's results compared globally within SAP were ranked among the top in Staff Satisfaction, Customer Satisfaction and Profitability. Most of all, he had fun doing it.

Mike has a track record in sales and business that is consistently above 200% of target. In the USA, Mike managed Global Accounts and joint business plans between fortune 50 corporations.

Mike’s philosophy on leadership is that it is a process not just a position. Mike is a passionate advocate of ethical corporate and individual behaviour in the business world.

Professional Coach

In 2004, Mike studied Professional Coaching with the Life Coaching Academy. He coaches top executives, leaders, sales people, strategic planners, consultants and PhD graduates on professional and personal development, business performance and strategy.

Mike’s philosophy on Coaching is that it is more than a catchy title, it is a profession that requires academic study and hundreds of hours of applied practice.

Education

In the first half of Mike's career, he studied as an undergraduate in IT and Business Administration. More recently, Mike studied Applied Social Sciences in Counselling and Management at The Australian College of Applied Psychology, Life Coaching with the Life Coaching Academy, and (currently) Psychology at the University of Queensland.

Mike holds a Cert IV in Life Coaching, and a Diploma of Soc. Sciences (Counselling & Mgt).

Mike’s philosophy on Education is that it is infinitely more useful if applied to help others.
